Working in Spain as a Dutchman

If you are going to work in Spain as a Dutchman, there are some practical things that are useful to know:

  • As a Dutchman, you are free to live and work in Spain when you are in possession of your NIE number;
  • You do not need a visa or work permit;
  • All you need is a valid ID.

Prior to working, you must apply for your NIE number (we are happy to help you with this!). This is an identification number for foreigners in Spain and you need it to be allowed to work.

Are you going to live and work in Spain for more than three months? Then make sure you deregister with your municipality before you leave. This is because if you are staying in Spain for a longer period of time, you often need proof of deregistration.

Do you still have questions about living and working in Spain? If so, please feel free to contact us.
